How to read these tax estimates

Current annual-renewal examples include no mileage charge. Check the registration assumptions before using a figure for your car.

An annual renewal example using current rates. Example first registration: 16 October 2025; annual renewal: 16 October 2026. No mileage charge is included before April 2028. This is a second-year renewal example, not first-year tax. Actual registration date, original list price and factory options can alter the result. Used cars need their actual dates. See assumptions.

Registered and used cars need their real first-registration date in the calculator. The common catalogue scenario is for comparison only.
