How annual tax comparisons work
An annual renewal example using current rates. Example first registration: 14 October 2025; annual renewal: 14 October 2026. No mileage charge is included before April 2028. This is a second-year renewal example, not first-year tax. Actual registration date, original list price and factory options can alter the result. Used cars need their actual dates. See assumptions.
